1 Samuel Chapter 2

verse 1 – 11

Hannah praise and says Her heart is happy and her mouth is a horn, she will boast over her enemies because God has delivered her. she begins to give God all the praise and to lift him up.  She says in verse 3 do not talk so proudly or speak arrogance because the Lord is a knowing God and by him our deeds are weighed. she says those who stumble are armed with strength. those who are full will look for food and those who are hungry will hunger no more. she who is barren will have seven children, but she who has many children will pine away.

She says the Lord raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash. The foundation of the earth is the Lords. He will guard the feet of the saints, but the wicked will be silenced in the dark.

He will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed. After Praying Hannah and Elkanah went home, but Samuel stayed to serve God.

Praise God I pray for that kind of blessing, won’t ke do it. Lord exalt the words of my mouth, Hallelujah. Lord God let the hungry not hunger anymore, Glory to God.

verse 12 – 26 Eli’s wicked Sons

This part tells us that Eli’s sons were wicked they were not servants of God and was working in the Lords house for their own selfish reasons. instead of taking a pinch of boiled meat they would request raw meat to roast in the name of the priest. If denied they would threaten to take it by force.

Now Samuel was ministering for the Lord. He was a young boy wearing a linen ephod, every year when Elkanah and his family would go up to sacrifice Hannah would make him a new one and bring it up to him. Eli would bless Hannah and Elkanah saying may the Lord give you children to take the place of the one she prayed for. The Lord was gracious to Hannah, she ended up baring three sons and two daughters.

In these verses we also learn that Eli knew about his sons behavior through word of mouth, the Lord says to his sons if a man sins against another man then the Lord intercede for them, but if a man sins against God then who will intercede for him. Eli’s son’s did not listen and it was the Lord’s decision to put them to death.

That last part is something to think about if we sin against man then we go to God but where so we go when we sin against God. We repent and go to God Praise God! Never be foolish enough that you don’t repent for your wrong doings.

verse 27 – 37

In these verses a man of God came to Eli and told him the Lord had said because he honored his sons over God, they will die on the same day to show Eli that He is Lord. His family will not live to old age and there will be another priest and his family will go to that priest to eat.

Blessed the Lord! Let tell you. When the Lord tells us something we need to do let’s honor that. In yesterday’s blog in the first chapter of  Samuel we learned that when the Lord blesses us with what we ask of him that we give it back we give him thanks giving and praise for loving us enough to allow us to move forward on the things that we delight in. I father Loves us and he made his baby happy, Praise God. Today we are learning that when the Lord tells you to remove something and you don’t then you are honoring that thing or person before God. Idolatry. There will be times that the Lord tells you to let go of something as Hannah was willing to let go of the one thing she wanted, her son to show her thanks giving to the Lord. The Lord blessed her she was no longer baron, what you are willing to give up the Lord says he will replace it double. Amen

Now for the Important part if you are looking for Salvation if you will like to start a new and be in the presence of God turn your bible, google, or download the free bible app and turn to Romans 10:9 Confess with your mouth that Jesus christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead then you shall be saved. start a prayer life and get in to the word and allow the Lord to turn it around for you.
