Ezekiel Chapter 31 A Cedar in Lebanon
verse 1 – 4
Ezekiel says in the eleventh year in the third month on the first day. The Lord says to him tell the Pharaoh king of Egypt and his large amount from people. Who can be compared with your beauty? Consider Assyria, once a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches overshadowing the forest; it towered on high. It’s top above the thick foliage. The waters nourished it, deep springs made it grow tail; their streams flowed all around its base and sent their channels to all the trees of the field.
verse 5 -7
So it towered higher than all the trees of the field; it’s boughs and increased and its branches grew long, spreading because of abundant waters. All the birds of the air nested in the boughs, all the beast of the field gave birth under its branches; all the great nations livid in its shade. It was majestic in beauty, with its spreading boughs, for its roots went down to abundant waters.
verse 8 -9
The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it, nor could the pine trees equal its boughs, nor could the plane tree equal its boughs, nor could the plane trees compare with its branches no tree in the garden of God could match its beauty. I made it beautiful with abundant branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden in the garden of God.
verse 10 – 14
The sovereign Lord says; because it was lifted high and above the thick foliage it was proud of its height. The Lord handed it over to the ruler of the nations. and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. And all who depend on its shade (protection) will go down right along with it.
This chapter reminds me that it’s easy to fall, as easy as it is to except the beauty that the Lord uses to create us. because we feel loved and made with special care we tend to lose a grip to why he made us beautiful and become proud and boastful. This chapter reminds us that even the proud and boastful fall the beautiful will drop due to their own pride. lets be careful not to believe we are better than the next man. God made our spirits for his purpose not our own.
Now for the important part. If you are looking for salvation and would like to begin a relationship with the sovereign Lord google, download the free bible app, or turn your bible to Romans 10:9 and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and died on the cross and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, You shall be saved. Start a prayer life and get in to the word, begin a relationship with the Lord that will take you to new heights.
