Philippians 4:14-19New International Version (NIV)
14 Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. 15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; 16 for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. 17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Amen! In this scripture Paul is writing a letter to the Philippians. The Philippians helped Paul when he was in prison with his finances. Paul thanks them for the gifts, ensures them that he didn’t desire them, but he desired for God to bless them ( The Philippians ) double, he states there were other people who didn’t help, but they were there on several occasions. Paul tells them the gifts were a fragrant offering, which is a Thanks giving offering. which is accepting and pleasing to God. He says in his letter And my God will meet your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
This scripture Reminds us that God supplies our needs, Paul was a servant of God he was in prison for preaching Gods word, he was preaching in the prisons and God provided for him . when he didn’t have much he was content with what he had, and he also knew what it was to have more than enough. and when we help others he is pleased.
Can we be content with what we had even if it isn’t much
