The Book Of Mark (chapter 1)

MarkGospel

The book of MARK, I love the fact that this book starts off with The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then goes to baptism and repentance. Mark 1:12  Explaining the baptism of Jesus and then right after it states his Spirit sent him  into the wilderness were he was tempted. .  It reminds me of  when we start the path to God and began our walk, our journey. God has his purpose for us. We receive the holy spirit and began our path to righteousness.  At this moment I am going through the tempted stage. I’m  fighting the world trying to be more like Jesus. There goes my language falling into conversation, there goes my judging falling in to acceptance,  there goes my talking about people.  In this Modern world I Find myself trying to catch my mouth before i let it out. Those are my temptations.
Right after letting it go I find myself in prayer. Asking God for forgiveness of those sins. So I’m thinking I’m missing something should I pray before I let it out mouth. Asking God to give me strength to speak better, asking God to use his will to control how I handle people, asking God for strength to fight the temptation to be verbally abusive, or verbally inconsiderate, and/ or verbally judgmental. So these are the things I plan to work on this week. My faith leads me to believe I will concur this, because it is my temptation, and I feel horrible when I do it, so it can’t be good. Praying for a better way to speak and handle myself while I’m dealing with people treating my neighbors as I would want to be treated.
Mark 1:14  takes us to when Jesus started to gather his disciples I find this one very interesting because he’s on his journey as I am. We find ourselves always wanting to share when we’re on our journey that’s why I started this blog I wanted to share Gods  good news as Jesus did after his baptism, when you’re full of the spirit you just get so happy that you want to express the wonderful feeling that God has given you and you want to share that feeling with anyone who is willing to listen. The God in you (holy Spirit) is ready to praise and Share the love of God

Mark 1:17  Makes sense  Jesus says to Simon and Andrew come follow me and I will make you Fishers of Men. Amen. Sharing the Good news, now I’m ready to look at myself as a Simon and a Andrew, which we all should. when in the word you will share the word, Hoping that the Faithless becomes the Faithful. Could it be considered stingy to keep it to yourself. Like Simon and Andrew I would have dropped my net and followed Jesus too. As I type that last sentence my thoughts go back to before lent. I wasn’t willing to give up certain things (Cigarettes, Wine, Cussing) I can’t say I wasn’t willing  I didn’t try. in the middle of lent the taste was taken from me, but with out a fight I dropped my net, when Jesus said come.
Mark 1:21  Shows The Authority that Jesus uses To command an evil spirit out of a man who was at one of his teachings on the Sabbath in the synagogue in Capernaum. I have  learned in my journey that when the spirit takes over your body you speak with Authority. In the Bible Luke 1:41 says when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting the baby leaped in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:42 says in a loud voice she exclaimed blessed are you among women and blessed is the child you will bear. The amazing part is she was filled with the Holy Spirit, Even the baby in her womb was filled with the spirit. Now let me explain how  I see speaking with authority  I believe it as speaking in a clear and loud voice, with control, no fear, or  doubt. In this scripture (LUKE) Who’s  Authority? The authorization of God the Holy Spirit. who was with Elizabeth at that moment so that’s where the authority would come from in my view. Again these are my thoughts as I study The Book of Mark. I am not a pastor, I am not a minister I am just reading the word of God with my open heart and spirit and sharing out of faith and Love. Back to the scripture It goes on to show us that the evil spirit was well aware that Jesus could Destroy it and called Jesus THE HOLY ONE OF GOD. In a stern voice Jesus demands the Evil Spirit out of the man and it leaves with a violent shake and a loud shriek. As a little girl I remember having bad dreams about evil spirits and I remember my Grandmother telling me to call Jesus and to continue calling his name. It works I still do it when I get a heavy feeling in my sleep no matter what I call Jesus sometimes I can’t move my mouth and just recently I find myself just calling his name in my head it works. My faith in him removes the fear and whatever that maybe lurking.

Mark 1:29  Jesus healing Simon’s mother-in-law from fever. Depending on what Gospel your reading he touched her hand, helped her up, spoke to the fever. even though Mark, Matthew , and Luke says one of those three happened in their book I believed each happened. He touched her hand as he prayed over the fever and helped her up. and then she got up and waited on them as women would do with guess.

Mark 1:32  The sick and demon possessed was  brought to Jesus. He healed many with different diseases and drove out demons, not allowing them to speak because they knew he was God the son but it says they knew who he was and of course they would because he was there in the beginning John 1:1 in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God John 1:14 the word became flesh and made his dwelling among us we have seen his glory the glory of the one and only who came from the father full of grace and truth which is describing Jesus.

Mark 1:35  Shows us  Jesus wakes up early in the morning to go pray I’ve come accustom after celebrating Lent to praying early in the morning so I wake up 5 a.m. to go to work and I say my prayers by 5:30 before I leave the house at 6 a.m. I did not make the schedule my spirit found it a better time to do my prayers but what I learned is it is important to start your day off with prayer. If I don’t get on my knees and pray I don’t feel right that day and I probably had been in praise all day it’s just different when I take the time for God. please don’t get me wrong there it doesn’t matter when you pray just try to fit it in there daily drop that net. and walk with Jesus.

Mark 1:38  Simon comes and tells Jesus that everyone is looking for him and then Jesus replied let us go somewhere else to a nearby Village so I can preach there also. That is why I have come to like the book of Mark. Jesus is showing his disciples, hey I am here to preach God’s word now that we have helped these people here, let’s go find someone else who needs me to preach and drive out demons and heal the sick. let’s go that’s why I’m here. My thoughts: before getting in to this book for the blog, I only would use it to reference Faith. well I see the building of faith now. Jesus teaching his disciples preparing them in the word, and showing them what faith is. You can show someone better than you can tell them. It says here in my study guide that the people would have a Saturday the Sabbath day where Jewish men would gather to listen to a rabbi teach from the scriptures. so I take it he would have those days to get from one place to another before he would preach the truth the word in a synagogue on the Sabbath day. giving opportunity to meet, heal, bless , love, and teach on his way to the next place led by the holy spirit.

Mark 1:39  So he traveled throughout Galilee preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. In the flesh his purpose was to teach us the scripture and about faith, to remove all things that was out to get us, that invaded us, and we were fighting internally with emotions uncontrolled,  evil words, and evil spirits that dwell within us. I believe some people do have somethings in their system that just won’t allow the good to take over their lives, or won’t allow great things to come into their space. I’ve seen those kind of people and it’s sad and I pray for them. They don’t think that God loves them enough to remove all things that is not of him. They allow the thought of having  “bad luck” instead of having faith control their mental space. If anyone who is reading this is going through a rough season.

PLEASE KNOW THAT JESUS LOVES YOU. HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND ANY SENSE OF BAD LUCK THAT YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE JUST REMEMBER IT’S FAITH THAT HAS GOTTEN YOU THIS FAR. I PRAY THAT THE FATHER BRINGS YOU OUT OF WHAT EVER YOU MAY BE GOING THROUGH HE IS STRONGER THAN ANY BAD LUCK HE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO MOVE WHAT EVER MOUNTAIN FROM YOUR PATH. HE HAS THE POWER TO OPEN WHAT EVER SEA THAT MAY BE BLOCKING YOU FROM YOUR DESTINY. WHAT EVER PAIN YOU MAY HAVE JUST ALLOW THE FATHERS WILL TO BE DONE. ALLOW HIM TO FILL YOU UP  WITH HIS  GRACE AND MERCY.AMEN

Mark 1:40  A man with Leprosy came to Jesus and begged him on his knees if you were willing,  you can make me clean. now leprosy was a disease that’s said in the those days  anybody with Leprosy was considered unclean and  if you touch that person you would be unclean

Mark 1:41  Filled with compassion Jesus reached out his hand and touched him and I am willing he said be cleaned immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. That’s The Power of Jesus. He had no problem touching this man because Jesus is love. So why would he worry about touching this man, all he wanted was for this man to feel loved. I mention the compassion of Jesus. Jesus was not only curing the leprosy but the lonely also. This man was so lonely that he just wanted to be considered clean again so that he can be able to communicate. His family didn’t touch him they considered him unclean he could not be with a mate, he could not be with his family or his children if he had any. Think about the pain he must have felt the emptiness and loneliness. When Jesus healed him he told the man go and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, but don’t tell anyone.  of course he was going to go and Tell It on the Mountain, as we tend to  We are willing to tell our many blessings but Jesus told him to keep it down. Here’s a question that I will basically end this blog with. If you were living in his day, and Jesus said I’m going to heal you, but don’t tell anybody. Could you hold it to yourself?  Let me be honest, I’m going to be the first to answer that question I could not because to this day I Go Tell It on the Mountain any blessing that I received from God. Glorifying his name on it.

Brothers and sisters please be blessed I will return with the next blog on Mark 2nd chapter I find it easier to break the chapters down and just enjoy the word with you guys until then please Like, Share &  Follow and spread the good news.

be blessed brothers and sisters until next time
